These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the BookOf mobile application (“App”), developed and operated by Epistates, Inc., a Delaware Corporation (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By downloading, installing, or using BookOf, you agree to these Terms.

BookOf is a Bible reading application for iOS providing access to Scripture in multiple translations and languages.

BookOf offers free and premium tiers. Premium is a one-time lifetime purchase.

Usage Guidelines

User Obligations

  • Use the app for lawful purposes only
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer or decompile the application
  • Not redistribute or resell Bible translation content
  • Respect intellectual property rights of translation publishers
  • Comply with all applicable laws and App Store guidelines

Prohibited Uses

  • × Unauthorized copying or redistribution of Bible translation text
  • × Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the application
  • × Removing or altering copyright notices or attributions
  • × Using the app or its content for commercial redistribution
  • × Attempting to bypass premium feature restrictions

Intellectual Property

Application

The BookOf application, including its design, code, and user interface, is the intellectual property of Epistates, Inc. and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Bible Translations

Bible translation texts are the property of their respective publishers and copyright holders. BookOf provides access to these texts under applicable licenses. Your use of translation content is for personal, non-commercial reading and study only.

Your Content

Notes, bookmarks, and highlights you create within BookOf are your personal content. Since all data is stored locally on your device, you retain full ownership and control of your personal study content.

License Grant

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use BookOf on your personal iOS devices for personal, non-commercial Bible reading and study purposes.

Legal Framework

Disclaimers

BookOf is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Bible translation accuracy is the responsibility of the respective publishers.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Epistates, Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of BookOf.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Changes & Termination

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of BookOf after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Data & Privacy

BookOf collects no data whatsoever. All reading data, bookmarks, and preferences are stored locally on your device. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
